The youth of today face many challenges in their lives. To groom youth to be effective, ethical leaders with strong values has never been harder. Therefore, The Northshore Academy of Martial Arts Youth Leadership Training program becomes an important component of learning and growing…not only in the Martial Arts…but in life.

Our Program is a very powerful tool that was built and designed to educate, inform, inspire and challenge students to set a new standard of excellence for themselves.

Leadership training improves self confidence and prepares youth to act as role models, work as a team, assist those in need, set goals, take responsibility and communicate effectively.

Promoting Youth Leadership Development through The Northshore Academy of Martial Arts is a great way to improve positive life skills learning.

The Purpose of Leadership Training

The purpose of the Leadership Training program is two fold: Assist New students while developing Leadership Program Trainees at the same time.

This is a win-win scenario.

New students are generally nervous or tentative when they begin classes. This is a unique environment and many new students will feel a strong desire to “fit in” as quickly as possible. The Student Leaders will fill a crucial role for the new students by providing friendship, guidance, leadership and basic instruction throughout their journey.

For current students that have a desire to become a leader…in…and out of the classroom, this program is the first step to reaching that goal.

The Requirements of the Leadership Program

• Must attend monthly meetings & training
• Must have consistent attendance with your regular belt classes
• Must show a desire to apply the skills you have learned
• Must be a Leadership Role Model and assist with classes at least once a week
• Must pass all written & skill based tests
• Must follow the rules & duties of the NSA Leadership Manual
• Must lead by example in and out of the dojo
• Must always be respectful at home & at school
• Must always maintain good grades in school (verification required)

Benefits of the Leadership Program

• Receive letters of recommendation for all college entrance requirements
• Earn a Leadership Program patch, belt and uniform during and upon completion of the program
• This is a Progressive Program…Students will have the opportunity to earn Rank within the program
• Receive Leadership Training on “How to lead your peers in a positive way”
• Students will increase there self-confidence while improving their public speaking abilities
• Receive focused Leadership training by NSA instructors with over 50 years of combined experience
• Have the opportunity to participate in advanced Martial Arts training

How to Get Involved in the NSA Leadership Program

Students will have the opportunity to participate in our 6 month Youth Leadership Program several times a year.
